Apostolos PAPASTATHOPOULOS is an Economist MSc IFRS and holds the position of the Managing Director at NAVIGARE YACHTING in Greece. He has long experience in senior executive positions in Greece and abroad. He is an Economist and Business & Finance Consultant at the companies AGP GROUP BUSINESS CONSULTING and ALPHA DEVELOPMENT.
He has started his career as a military officer and he has served in various positions in Greek Ministry of Defense and in Special Forces both domestic and abroad since 1992 until 2002. He has served with International Long Range Reconnaissance / Weingarten-Germany, with 26th Marine Corps/North Carolina-USA, with 1st Battalion of Special Forces Group/Boblingen-Germany. He was Finance & Operations Manager in Hermes Greece & Turkey since 2005 until 2010.
He holds a degree of Greek Military Academy (Evelpidon), a Degree in Economics from University of Crete and a MSc in International Financial & Reporting Standards from University of Athens.
Apostolos is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Occupational Fund of Greek Civil Aviation
He has additional education for Strategic Planning, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Financial Management in Army Operations from Greek Ministry of Defense and NATO Marine Corps Base in Germany, Financial of Work from University of Crete and Leadership Management, Paris, France, Dynargie France
Apostolos says that his military experience was a better preparation for corporate competition than business school was. While business school focused on a peaceful world, the military prepared him for war and the day-today business crises he would come to face “every half hour”. More specifically, he credited the military with teaching him goal-orientation and problem-solving skills
